There are new reports about the ongoing drama between Prince Harry and Prince William, and it’s reportedly putting their mutual friend, Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, in a difficult position. The Duke, who recently had a daughter named Cosima with his wife Olivia, is reportedly struggling with the decision of who to choose as Cosima’s godfather.

Grosvenor is reportedly torn between choosing Prince William or Prince Harry for the role. It seems like Prince William is the more likely choice because of his continuous presence in the Duke’s life. However, it’s not a simple decision. The Grosvenor family has a long history with the British Royal Family. For instance, Hugh played an important role in King Charles III’s Coronation in 2023, carrying the Standards of the Quarterings of the Royal Arms and the Standard of the Principality.

Hugh’s late father, Gerald Grosvenor, was also a close friend of King Charles, and King Charles actually became one of Hugh’s godparents when he was born in 1990. Gerald’s widow, Natalia, is a godmother to Prince William, and Princess Diana was a godmother to Gerald’s second daughter, Lady Edwina Grosvenor.
