Kentucky teen gropes random granny’s fanny on her porch, winds up in jail

She was minding her own business when he asked for directions.

A shocking and alarming situation happened in Louisville, Kentucky, recently, where door cam security camera footage shows a 13-year-old boy approach a 78-year-old woman and then proceed to grope her behind after seeming to brush something off her back.

According to the woman in the footage, Jan Fletcher, the boy approached her while she was sitting on her porch and asked her for directions to a nearby park. He stepped onto her approach, motioned as if he was brushing something off her back, and while doing so, touched her several times inappropriately.

Fletcher later told Louisville’s WLKY, “As soon as that happened, I said, let me tell you something, you better get out of here and you better go now. So he did. He was gone.” She also said she wanted an apology and an explanation for what he did.

Police arrested the boy a few days later

Details are scarce as to how they identified the boy, but reports say police arrested the 13-year-old a few days later, on Friday, August 29, 2025, and confirmed he did not live in Fletcher’s neighborhood. The teen is charged with third-degree sexual abuse.

Speaking with WLKY, Fletcher added, “I really hate that these young people are out here doing stuff,” like what happened to her. “I hate it, it’s sad, but. What reason do they get? What enjoyment do they get out of doing stuff? I don’t understand it,” Fletcher said.

In a statement, Louisville police added, “We hope this arrest relieves some of the fear and embarrassment the innocent woman suffered.” Response to the Louisville social media post sharing news that the boy was in custody noted, “Lucky it wasn’t my granny.” Another added, “Why would he do that? Why would he think it was ok? I’m glad they caught him. I’m sorry this happened to her. It’s just bizarre the whole situation. I pray he didn’t have other intentions either.”
