‘Trump was an FBI informant’: Mockery as Republicans now claiming Trump was on a secret mission to bring down Epstein

Secret undercover agent Donald Trump? Right, sure, whatever.

How dumb do they really think we are? Let’s have a little recap of Donald Trump and the Republican Party’s position on the Epstein files.

Recommended Videos

First, Trump was gung-ho about releasing them, making it a central point of his 2024 campaign. Pam Bondi proudly announced that the files were on her desk and they’d be released to the public very soon. Then, for some unexplained and mysterious reason, Trump suddenly did a complete 180 turn.

First, the files didn’t exist after all. Then Trump insisted the files were “boring” and anyone who cared about them was stupid. Then the files were a Democrat hoax concocted to destroy him. And now… *drum roll* the latest position is that Trump was a secret “FBI informant” sent in on a secret undercover mission to bring down Epstein. As House Speaker Mike Johnson feebly explained:

“He’s not saying that what Epstein did is a hoax. It’s a terrible unspeakable evil. He believes that himself. When he first heard the rumor he kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago. He was an FBI informant to try to take this stuff down. The president knows and has great sympathy for the women who suffered these unspeakable harms. It’s detestable to him.”

And you’re only bringing this up now?

Well, first up, Trump did say that it was a “Democrat hoax”, but whatever. Most importantly, does anyone seriously believe that Donald Trump was an FBI informant tasked with bringing Epstein down? If that was true, why wouldn’t you reveal that right at the start of this chaos and back it up with FBI documents proving it?

Also, Trump would be a truly awful undercover informant! The guy can’t keep a story straight from one minute to the next, let alone report back on the intricacies of a global pedophile conspiracy.

As anyone with a handful of functioning brain cells should be able to tell, the Trump administration has clearly realized that the Epstein files will be released, that there will be incriminating details about Trump in there, and that they need to cook up some kind of insane excuse that maybe gets him off the hook.

So, sure, whatever, Trump is in them doing truly heinous stuff, but that’s okay because he was an “FBI informant”. Needless to say, this stupid story is being roundly mocked online:

The sad thing is that the Trump administration knows there are people out there gullible enough to fall for this. Sure, they’re the bottom of the MAGA barrel, but there’s enough of them out there to shrug and swallow whatever garbage Trump has decided to feed them today.
