Texas mom says she made eye contact with a stranger and smiled, only for the women to aggressively snap at her: ‘You don’t remember me?’

Softening a natural “resting bitch face” with a warm, friendly smile is supposed to make everyday social interactions smoother. But if your innocent grin towards a stranger accidentally collides with an ancient personal grudge? The comical co-incidence can take your morning on a wildly hilarious detour.

For Texas-based TikTok creator Ena (@wethepeeples), attempting to be pleasant in the morning allegedly sparked a clash with a stranger in the parking lot. But she didn’t realize that the stranger was, in fact, no stranger at all. She had been silently harboring hostility against her for nearly half a decade. 

In a TikTok storytime, Ena detailed the surreal moment her attempt at friendliness was met with pure venom. But what seemed like unprovoked aggression over breakfast turned out to be an unresolved school drop-off showdown. Remarkably, the fact that the lady had refused to let go of the grudge for four years made Ena lose her anger and respect the hustle.

The confrontation allegedly unfolded while Ena was sitting in her car and minding her own business. Consciously trying to work on softening her facial expressions, she made eye contact with a woman walking past and decided to flash a friendly smile. But instead of receiving a smile in return, the stranger reportedly snapped aggressively, shouting, “Don’t smile at me.”

Stunned by the unprompted hostility so early in the morning, Ena initially assumed the woman was simply hangry. However, the woman then pressed on with, “You don’t remember me?” and Ena realized this was personal. “Unfazed, I have no idea who this lady is.”

The stranger then explained that four years prior at their children’s school, Ena had parked her massive pickup truck so close that the woman was unable to open her vehicle door. When asked to move, Ena had pointed out that her vehicle was parked entirely within the yellow lines and flatly refused to budge. She’s like, ‘Our kids go to the same school, and one time when you parked, I couldn’t get out of my car.'”

As the woman recounted the details, the memory immediately came flooding back to Ena. “Look, I drove a lesbian truck. That shit was big. I was in the yellow line. I got out, I said, ‘Yellow line. I’m not moving,'” Ena recalled with a laugh, marveling that a tight parking job was still fueling so much rage years later.

Holding a long-term grudge was oddly respectable, according to Ena

While getting snapped at by a stranger in public is usually frustrating, Ena admitted she couldn’t bring herself to be genuinely angry. “Honestly, I can’t even be mad at her because I love a good grudge.” 

In a world where people forget minor grievances in days, maintaining that level of raw energy over a school parking line for four solid years takes an almost impressive level of dedication. And that impressed Ena.

However, Ena admitted that she had completely moved on and forgotten the woman’s face. Yet, the encounter reportedly led Ena to retire her friendly smile for good. She joked that she would be sticking strictly to her resting bitch face from now on.

At the end of the day, you never know whose villain origin story you might have caused in a parking lot. These places are known for the craziest stories you’ll hear.
