‘The worst type of person’: Man who allegedly killed a seagull and left trash at La Jolla Shores gets comeuppance in the form of internet justice

The seagull was apparently kicked to death.

A man on Instagram has called upon the people of the internet to aid in finding an individual whom he claimed brutally murdered a seagull and left trash on La Jolla Shores. The graphic video showed the deceased bird as well as the litter left by the man, who appeared to have been relaxing on the beach with his family after violently killing the animal.

“OK internet, you’ve got to do some detective work here,” Instagramer Lucas Hill said in his video. He showed a picture of the deceased seagull, which can be seen with Cheetos stuffed in its mouth. He also showed a picture of a man he claimed was responsible for the bird’s death. The individual in the picture appears to be white, middle-aged, bald, and with facial hair.

“We saw this guy kill a seagull and leave his trash all over the beach,” Lucas claimed. He also showed a photo of a Starbucks cup allegedly left by the man, which revealed his name to be “Adam P.” While Lucas admitted he didn’t see the man kill the gull himself, he said that the people he was with did, and he witnessed the aftermath as “Adam” covered up the dead bird with a towel.

Lucas said that he called the game warden to report what happened, claiming that the gulls are protected. According to the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918, the animals are indeed protected and killing one is considered a government offense according to birdfact.com.

According to Lucas, wildlife law enforcement advised him not to engage. “It’s terrible, it is actually terrible,” he said of the horrific act. “I think that this is actually the worst type of person,” another one from the group added.

The internet worked to identify Adam

Lucas noted that Adam had a group of kids with him, calling the man a “really bad influence.” he then called upon the internet: “If you know Adam P, tag him.” Commenters suggested tagging “Tizzy” a well-known figure whose videos revolve around finding out the identities of people who have been caught on camera committing crimes or despicable acts in public.

The incident came months after a teen was seen kicking a sea lion on the La Jolla beach, leaving viewers questioning, “what’s going on in La Jolla?”

In a second video, Lucas claimed that Adam P had actually been identified, although he did not provide details about the individual. “The internet detectives have done their work,” he proclaimed. “I received a few DMs identifying the guy, so we have his information now; it’s just up to law enforcement to see what they do.”
