‘On drugs’: Pennsylvania middle school principal on leave after bizarre behavior caught on video

That's a weird way to start the school year.

A bizarre story has emerged from Allentown, Pennsylvania, where a middle school principal is on indefinite leave after a video emerged online of her erratic behavior. The principal behaved so strangely in front of students that the person behind the camera noted she seemed like she might be on drugs.

The principal in question is Stephanie Williams from Harrison-Morton Middle School in Allentown. According to news outlet WFMZ, the incident occurred at a weekend event in Allentown’s Bucky Boyle Park in mid-September 2025. In the footage, the woman, who is reportedly Williams, says, “Baby, you don’t even know what I just discovered,” when an off-camera voice asks why she’s acting “crazy.”

Longer versions shared online reportedly showed Williams say, “Y’all be thinking I’m crazy, but I’m the smartest person in the room.” She’s also seen rolling around on the ground and laughing, according to Lehigh Valley News.

Williams then continues to move and behave strangely, spinning and running in circles while making unexplained gestures. At one point, she seems to spell “socks,” and then refers to several students filming while she says she’s about to go “viral.”

“Some sort of psychotic break?”

After the clip went viral, some comments and posts speculated she might be on drugs. Others suggested it might be a mental health issue. “I’m not sure if she’s on something or having some sort of psychotic break?” one comment noted.

Another added, “This could be psychosis & motor tics/involuntarily movements from an organic/natural mental health episode or withdrawal symptoms from a number of different drugs, including oxycodone or meth. This behavior is much more likely during withdrawal than from the actual high.”

The district reportedly brought on Williams, an experienced educator, only a few months before the controversy unfolded. Her colleagues reported that Williams seemed “stressed” that day and complained she was suffering from a cold. Reports say Allentown police are investigating the situation.
