‘I see you!’: Woman has horrifying realization that a person is watching her through her Ring door cam

Make sure you have a password on your Ring account!

Do you ever get the feeling that you’re being watched? Well that may well be the case if you have a Ring door camera with a shoddy password to protect your account. One woman on TikTok found out the hard way after realizing she was being watched through her camera by a creepy person who taunted her through the device.

Ring doorbells can be pretty handy, but a viral video posted by “BrendaJAS26” shows the dangers of not putting a password on security such devices. The short clip already has well over ten million views on TikTok and in it we see Brenda holding her door cam as a voice can be heard coming through. The voice is that of an allegedly unknown man or woman (it’s ard to tell which). They can be heard saying “I see you,” in a taunting manner. It’s very creepy stuff.

Brenda had been in the process of changing the battery when she noticed the blue light was on, meaning someone was watching. Could you imagine hearing that voice in the middle of the night? And all coming from a camera designed to keep your home and family secure.

Is the Ring camera video real?

The video spooked plenty of viewers on TikTok who were naturally worried about being spied on by some creep watching them. “I would legit burst into tears,” wrote one, while another asked, “Girl did you call the company or somebody IM SCARED.” Others recommended that Brenda change her password as it may have been exposed in a data leak, allowing hackers access to her Ring account.

The threat of hackers gaining access to devices such as this is quite real. According to veepn.com, Ring devices are vulnerable to cyber attacks because they lack end-to-end encryption. Data leaks can also result in user’s credentials falling into the hands of hackers who can then watch people without them ever knowing.

The revelation that somebody was watching her would have no doubt shook Brenda to her core Thankfully she posted it to TikTok where users advised her to change the password. Listening to their advice she informed viewers in an update video that nothing weird had happened since so we can assume the unwanted viewer was no longer watching.

Of course, that doesn’t change the uneasy feeling many will likely have around their Ring cameras after watching her video. You can never know for sure if someone is watching you or not. The best course of action is to make sure you have a secure password that isn’t the same as other passwords (that way if there’s ever a data leak for a different service hackers still won’t know your Ring password). Secure passwords are a must if you want to beat the hackers!
