‘Why didn’t you call the police?’: Footage appears to show man fighting off Grim Reaper looking figure in his house

The Grim Reaper comes for us all eventually, although for most, the figure of the reaper is more a metaphorical symbol of death. But what if it wasn’t? What if the Grim Reaper was real and you could take a picture of it? Sounds ridiculous but one person on TikTok believes they may have recorded a man fighting with death itself.

The haunting clip shows a house across the street from the person recording. In one of the downstairs windows we can see what appears to be two figures, one is definitely human, but the second is darker and much larger. It looms over the person who seems to be crouched down in fear. The individual can also be heard screaming from across the street as they try to push the hulking figure away but whatever it is, it’s relentless.

Viewers asked the logical question of “why didn’t you call the police?” Another viewer added, “who sees this HEARS THAT yet doesn’t call the police instead records it?” They have a point, calling the police would have been the sensible option. It may not be a demon, but it could be an actual crime.

But then again, we have little context to the short clip so we don’t know whether or not the police have actually been called. The original poster has also not given any updates since.

Is it really the Grim Reaper? The people of TikTok don’t think so

The account responsible for the clip, “freshguym1” suggests that the beast may be the Reaper or perhaps some sort of demonic creature. Whatever it is, it certainly looks inhuman, but then again, it’s very hard to tell exactly what it is from such a distance. Either way, it clearly sounds and looks like the person is in a great deal of distress.

So what is this thing? It’s doubtful it’s the actual Grim Reaper, or even a demon, but what other theories could possibly explain what we’re seeing? 

Many viewers reasoned that the person recording may have gotten the wrong end of the stick. Some suggested that maybe they were simply filming a short, low-budget, horror film or a skit for TikTok. Others wondered if they were engaged in some sort of wild role-play while a few thought it could be a Halloween window projector.

Whatever it is, the unanimous conclusion was that it was not the Grim Reaper. “I’ve died before, there is no grim reaper,” wrote one disturbed person, adding it’s “probably just a skit or a tiktok or something.” Another chimed in, “There is no grim reaper, Anubis is the one who comes for the dead souls.” Either way, it’s a pretty disturbing sight and we can only hope the person recording called 9-1-1 to investigate.
