Donald Trump declares ‘affordability’ a con term created by Dems – now you know he’s never cared about you or your struggles

Just in case you needed another reminder that he’s never given a damn about you.

President Donald Trump made a shocking statement during a Cabinet meeting. He called the focus on “affordability” a “Democrat scam.” This comes at a time when millions of Americans are struggling to pay their bills.

“The word affordability is a Democrat scam,” Trump said, according to Fox Business. “They say it and then they go into the next subject and everyone thinks, ‘oh, they had lower prices.’ No, they had the worst inflation in the history of our country.”  He claimed his own administration has “stopped inflation in its tracks” since January. As proof, he pointed to lower gas prices, mortgage rates, and cheaper eggs.

But the real numbers tell a different story. Inflation hit a 40-year high of 9.1% in June 2022 because of COVID-19 supply chain problems and government spending. It has come down since then but is still above the Federal Reserve’s 2% target.

The numbers show inflation is still hurting Americans

When Trump returned to the White House in January, inflation was at 3%. It dropped to 2.3% in April, the lowest since March 2021. But then it jumped back up to 3% in September. This happened right after the administration added higher tariffs, which importers pass on to customers through higher prices.

A recent Fox News poll found that 76% of people think national economic conditions are either “not so good” or “poor.” Even worse, 60% say their own financial situation is poor or not good. The administration’s decision to stop releasing economic data has made it harder for Americans to track these changes.

The poll showed groceries are the biggest problem. A massive 85% of shoppers said their grocery costs went up over the past year. At least two-thirds of people also reported higher utility bills, healthcare costs, and housing costs compared to last year.

Gas prices were the only bright spot. Just 54% reported price increases, and 30% said their gas costs actually went down. But that small relief doesn’t change how people feel about the economy overall.

A strong 61% majority disapproves of how Trump is handling the economy. While 77% of Republicans still approve, only 25% of independents and 6% of Democrats agree. Despite Trump’s tariffs failing to slow China, the president continues to defend his trade policies. When the president calls real financial pain a political “scam,” it shows a huge disconnect with what most Americans are going through every day.
