‘I always loved Trump, this is unfair’: MAGA mayor in voter fraud scandal, facing deportation to Mexico

Says it was an "honest mistake".

Congratulations MAGA! The long search is over, and some genuine, bona fide, actual no-kidding voter fraud has been discovered! Wait.. *taps ear* Oh? Uh-huh. Uh-huh… Ah.

I regret to inform you that… it’s a Republican mayor committing voter fraud for Donald Trump. Yup, Jose “Joe” Ceballos, the mayor of the town of Coldwater, Kansas (pop. 687), is now facing deportation to Mexico after being accused by the Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach of illegally voting in multiple elections.

The 54-year-old Ceballos is a Mexican citizen and a legal permanent resident in the United States, meaning he has a right to be in the country but not to cast a vote in elections. But he went on to vote for Trump three times, and has apparently voted straight Republican since 1991.

The Kansas Attorney has hit him with multiple criminal felony charges, including three counts of voting without being qualified and three counts of election perjury. Kobach is adamant that Ceballos must be prosecuted, saying:

“In Kansas, it is against the law to vote if you are not a U.S. citizen. We allege that Mr. Ceballos did it multiple times.”

Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin also commented on the case, confirming that he’ll be deported if convicted:

“This alien committed a felony by voting in American elections. If convicted, he will be placed in removal proceedings. President Trump and Secretary Noem gave states access to the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program to ensure only Americans vote in American elections.”

An “honest mistake”?

Ceballos’ defense is that this was an “honest mistake”, as he believed he was eligible to vote after a high school field trip when an election clerk asked students whether they wanted to register, and he raised his hand. He’s gone on to say, “I always loved Trump, this is unfair”.

Coldwater is in Comanche County, with more than 83% of voters deciding that voting Trump in 2024 was their path to a better life. But, in a somewhat hypocritical twist, it seems they’re standing by their mayor. Raw Story reports local rancher Dennis Swayze saying:

“If deportation happens, I can tell you that Kobach will have trouble showing up here, especially if he asks to stay with us for a while.”

Other residents said: “Deportation would be, as I told Joe, like sending me to Egypt”. Huh, it’s weird how randomly deporting people to countries they haven’t lived in since they were a child is suddenly unjust when it’s happening to someone you personally know and like!

In the past, we might have had some sympathy for Ceballos. But he knew what he was voting for, so he’s made his bed and can now lie in it. Always remember, the Trump administration doesn’t care if you support it or not, if they can boot you out of the country, they will boot you out of the country.
