‘I will give you my pain’: Texas man just wanted a late-night beer, but he met a stranger who had powers he still can’t explain

Never mess with witches.

A Texas man’s late-night trip to the bar took a truly paranormal turn when a friendly stranger, who identified himself as a devotee of Santa Muerte, magically inflicted searing pain on him before taking it back. That’s the wild story TikTok creator Chumbolex (@chumbolex) is telling, and honestly, it sounds like something straight out of a movie.

The video, captioned “I need a Mexican ASAP,” has already racked up over 2 million views because this isn’t just a bar story; it’s an encounter with something totally unexplainable. Chumbolex had already grabbed a drink with his buddy Leonard, but he wasn’t quite ready to call it a night. So he headed to another bar, where he struck up a conversation with a man who appeared homeless and only spoke Spanish.

Thinking this was a great chance to practice his Spanish, Chumbolex started asking typical bar questions, like where the man was from and what he did. Everything seemed pretty normal until the man suddenly asked him if he knew about the Santisima Muerte, according to Bro Bible.

Do not hang around witches in Mexico

Chumbolex admitted he didn’t. The stranger then explained that Santa Muerte, often called “grandmother death,” is actually life itself. He insisted that you can’t believe in Santa Muerte without believing in God, since God created everything. This is a fascinating religious perspective, but it wasn’t the part of the night that made Chumbolex sweat.

Things got genuinely weird as the night wore on. The man, who looked disheveled, pulled out what Chumbolex called “the biggest wad of cash I’ve ever seen in my life” to pay for another round of Shiner Bock. He basically insisted Chumbolex stay because he had “things to tell” him. The stranger then launched into a powerful monologue about protection and power. This isn’t about a movie witch, but apparently a real-life one.

He told Chumbolex that nobody could take anything from him because Santa Muerte protects him, specifically because he doesn’t want anything from her. The man clarified that Chumbolex also held this power. As long as you don’t desire anything, “you have the power to give and take whatever you want,” he reportedly said. This is a heavy philosophy to drop over a late-night beer.

The conversation then shifted to the man’s wisdom teeth, which he hadn’t had removed because he refuses to let anyone take anything from him. Chumbolex suggested getting them pulled might be a good idea, but the man flat-out refused. Then came the challenge. He asked Chumbolex if he thought unpulled wisdom teeth would hurt. “I will give you my pain,” he promised.

The very second those words left the man’s mouth, Chumbolex felt an intense, searing pain exactly where his own wisdom teeth used to be. The pain lasted about ten seconds.

Then, the stranger simply said he didn’t want to give that pain away anymore. “So I take it back and release it to the universe,” he stated, and just like that, the evening returned to being perfectly pleasant. It’s something out of a horror movie, but I believe it. If you grew up in Mexico, and not like a rich kid, you know this kind of thing is more real than people want to believe.
