‘Do I get credit for it? No’: Hot mic catches Donald Trump’s shocking complaint during dinner with Benjamin Netanyahu

Someone's still bitter about that snub.

A microphone caught Donald Trump complaining about not winning the Nobel Peace Prize during a dinner meeting. The incident happened while he was talking with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Monday, December 29.

The two leaders were meeting to discuss a peace plan for Gaza. As they sat down to eat, the hot mic picked up Trump talking about his recent peace deals and how he feels unrecognized for his efforts.

According to Unilad, Trump turned to Netanyahu and said, “Do I get credit for it? No.” The 79-year-old then claimed he has ended eight wars since returning to the White House in January this year. He started saying “They gave the Nobel-” but stopped mid-sentence.

Trump’s peace deal claims don’t all add up

He continued by mentioning India and Pakistan, saying he ended their conflict along with seven other wars. However, these claims are difficult to confirm. India has not given Trump any credit for solving its issues with Pakistan. The country said its military and Pakistan’s military agreed to a ceasefire on their own, without U.S. help.

Trump did help arrange some ceasefire agreements between Israel and Iran, and between Cambodia and Thailand. But his involvement in other conflicts is unclear or questionable. Recently, Trump has also been involved in launching military strikes against ISIS in Nigeria, which he called a defense of Christians.

Congo is still dealing with fighting between rival military groups. Some people have also pointed out that there was no war between Serbia and Kosovo for Trump to have ended, despite his claims. In another mistake, Trump confused Armenia with Albania and falsely said he calmed tensions between Azerbaijan and Albania. European world leaders laughed about this error.

Trump has spent months campaigning to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Interestingly, Netanyahu was the one who nominated him for the award back in June. Despite his efforts, some critics have questioned Trump’s faith and Christian values, making his appeal to religious communities more complicated.

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize went to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado instead. The 58-year-old won for her work promoting democratic rights in Venezuela and fighting to move the country from dictatorship to democracy.

She dedicated her award to Trump, praising his actions against the Venezuelan regime and thanking his administration for helping her relocate safely to Oslo, Norway, to collect her prize.
