Marjorie Taylor Greene’s latest move ought to enrage Trump as she encourages angry voters to partake in upcoming ‘tax revolt’

Marjorie Taylor Greene claims Donald Trump and his party aren't representing Americans.

Marjorie Taylor Greene continues to be a thorn in Donald Trump’s side after her surprising change of heart earlier this year. The Georgia Rep has openly endorsed a planned “tax revolt” for the upcoming year with angry voters scheduling tax strikes across numerous states.

“Almost every Trump voter I see on X is so fed up they are planning a 2026 tax revolt.” Greene wrote on X. However, whereas in the past she would have likely labeled the protestors as “traitors” or “un-American,” for daring to question her lord and savior Donald Trump, now she is actively encouraging them to proceed.

“Americans work their asses off, barely make ends meet, and the government consistently gives their hard earned tax dollars to foreign countries,” she argues. It seems Greene no longer believes that the Trump administration represents the American people and it’s time they took matters into their own hands by hurting the wallets of those in power.

The MAGA crowd crumbling was sort of an inevitability, after all, Trump is very rarely able to maintain his allies for long. Most of them are only really in it for their own gain and Marjorie Taylor Greene is no different and in many ways she is worse than Trump but it’s still a small win to see her calling out the president for once.

Marjorie Taylor Greene wants to put people first

In her post Greene claims that both the GOP and the Democrat Party “screws over Americans.” She lists many issues which are facing the average person which includes “unaffordable healthcare, unaffordable housing, and the dollar loses value every day.” She has a point, life is getting harder for regular people every day and her words echo those of Lauren Boebert, who recently criticized Trump for his retaliation against her which will likely affect the people of Colorado.

Whether this “tax revolt” will be successful is not clear. According to Newsweek, multiple tax strike rallies have been scheduled next month across the country. Of course, Trump and his government will likely just try and weather the storm and point the finger at the easiest scapegoat they can find.

Regardless, it seems many far-right and MAGA aligned individuals are supporting the revolt which is definitely promising. The midterms are next year and Trump has clearly lost a huge chunk of his supporters so we may be a step closer to ending this nightmare.

Of course, this doesn’t redeem people like Greene or Boebert, who have shown how hateful and ignorant they can be and likely still are. Remember who played a part in getting Trump into office in the first place.
