A Wisconsin man needed a quick meal and decided to skip his car completely. Instead, he pulled up to a McDonald’s drive-thru on his snowmobile. The employee got a story he won’t forget anytime soon. The interaction was recorded by the snowmobiler named Maclain on his TikTok channel (@715_foxbody).
According to Motor1, the video starts as he rolls up to the window and asks, “Are you there?” The employee, focused on the order screen, replies, “Yes, I am,” before looking up and seeing his customer isn’t in a regular vehicle.
You can hear the shock in his voice when he says, “What the heck? I wasn’t even looking at my thing when you came up. I didn’t realize you were on a snowmobile.” Maclain, who owns a Ford Mustang GT, quickly explained why he chose this unusual ride. He told the employee, “Car doesn’t have snow tires on it, so this is my mode of transportation, boss.”
The McDonald’s worker handled the surprise with professionalism
Despite being surprised, the McDonald’s worker stayed professional. “That’s a first for me,” he said before taking the order. Maclain ordered a Number 7, which is a 10-piece McNugget meal in that area, plus a Coke. The conversation got interesting when it came to sauces.
When the employee asked about condiments, Maclain requested Buffalo sauce. The employee suggested Buffalo Ranch instead, explaining, “It’s a little less hot.” Maclain politely turned down the suggestion, saying, “I like it a little spicy sometimes.” This McDonald’s visit went much smoother than one customer’s DIY Fish Filet disaster.
The employee respected his choice. “I don’t blame ya,” he responded right away. He finished the order with the instruction, “Alrighty. Rip on up here.” The video went viral and got more than 4 million views on TikTok. Maclain later explained that his “bro needed nuggets and the car was stuck,” calling it his “purest form of Midwestern hospitality.” The drive-thru worker even commented on the video after it blew up. “Hey, I’m the guy that took your order,” he wrote. “You definitely made my night.”
Viewers loved the friendly exchange. One person shared, “My favourite part of living in my town is seeing the rows of Snowmobiles lined up outside the Coffee Shops 🤣🤣🤣” Another commenter recalled, “we use to have a video of us going down US6 with 4 orange plastic sleds behind our snowmobile. Each sled had a keg, it was in the middle of a blizzard…lol”
McDonald’s even opened a location for snowmobilers in Sweden back in 2002. That location’s parking lot was built to handle up to 60 snowmobiles at once. Unlike the suspicious discovery near the dumpster, this McDonald’s moment was purely wholesome. In Wisconsin, snowmobile owners need to register their vehicles, and they’re generally
