‘This is not a first-time thing’: ‘RHOBH’ star Lisa Rinna says she was ‘roofied’ during ‘The Traitors’ premiere

She wants to clear the record on what really happened that night.

Lisa Rinna, best known for her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, recently shared a frightening experience from the January premiere of The Traitors that she says she is still dealing with. Rinna alleges that she was drugged and later learned fentanyl was in her system.

If you’re not watching The Traitors, you’re arguably missing one of the most entertaining reality competition shows on television right now. The series brings twenty American contestants to an ancient castle in Scotland, where they work together to build a $250,000 prize fund. The twist? Hidden among them is a “traitor,” and through a series of missions and roundtable eliminations, the group must determine who is secretly sabotaging their efforts. The show has become a fan favorite and is hosted by BAFTA-winning actor Alan Cumming.

Rinna competed in the show’s fourth season and was walking the red carpet to promote it when, she says, something went terribly wrong. She explained, “I had fentanyl in my system — I’m not kidding. I had fentanyl, high levels of amphetamines, and other things. But I can’t talk a lot about it, because we’re still dealing with it. It was leaked, and my team is dealing with it now.”

According to NBC, the former Real Housewife shared the details while promoting her new memoir, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It. Rinna did not clarify whether she reported the incident to authorities. When Peacock’s parent company, NBCUniversal, was reached for comment, it did not respond to questions about the alleged drugging.

Rinna said she was able to get through the ordeal thanks in part to her husband’s presence. “Luckily, my husband was there and was able to get me out of there quickly,” she said. She also addressed online speculation suggesting she had simply been intoxicated. “I saw other things like, ‘Oh, Lisa was just drunk.’ But no.”

Typically open about her life, Rinna chose to exercise restraint this time. While she indicated that she has suspicions about what happened, she said she will not be naming anyone publicly. She added that she knows many people in Hollywood who have experienced similar situations. “This is not a first-time thing,” she said. “This is something that’s gone on for years, and I do think it needs to be a conversation. I’m glad now that it’s out and we will deal with it. I just haven’t had my own time to do that yet.”

According to The Independent, the venue in question, The Abbey, released a statement saying, “When she became unwell, our security team assisted her and escorted her safely out of the venue. We pulled and reviewed all available surveillance footage from the time in question and interviewed staff on duty. We found no evidence of drink tampering or suspicious behavior toward her.”

The bar added that it cannot speculate about whether the drink contained fentanyl because it does not have access to Rinna’s medical report. It also stated that any customer who believes their drink has been tampered with should report it immediately — advice that applies to anyone, anywhere.
