Something fishy is going on with drones in the Middle East. On the weekend, an explosive drone hit a British Royal Air Force Base in Cyprus. The attack took place during the Iranian retaliation strikes after the US/Israeli bombardment of Iran, though it raised eyebrows as the United Kingdom isn’t involved in Trump and Netanyahu’s campaign.
That said, the UK and Iran have long been enemies, so it wasn’t overly surprising that the British base be attacked. Then the plot thickened, the British Ministry of Defence launched an investigation, quickly discovering that the drone “was not launched from Iran”.
The UK confirmed the Cyprus drone wasn’t Iranian. That’s the part everyone needs to sit with. If it wasn’t Iran, someone else is hitting targets in this war and letting Iran take the blame for it.

Now another mysterious drone strike has hit an airport in Azerbaijan. Iran is adamant this isn’t their doing, with Iran’s deputy foreign minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, saying:
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has not targeted the Republic of Azerbaijan. We do not target our neighbouring countries.”
A Drone has struck Azerbaijan’s airport.

But don’t worry, Kamala Harris is the World War III president, not Trump.

So, if Iran isn’t launching these drones, who is? Well, Britain’s theory is that these have launched by “pro-Iranian militia” in Lebanon or Iraq, but even they admit they don’t have any evidence to back that up.
Is something sneaky afoot?
The internet has another theory. Could these drones be a sneaky tactic to draw more countries into this conflict, perhaps putting pressure on leaders skeptical of Trump and Netanyahu’s plans to sign up?
If an investigation reveals that it was Israel who launched the first drone at RAF Akrotiri in a false flag operation, why don’t we press the big red Article 5 button?

Let’s not beat around the bush. The theory online is that these strikes are being secretly conducted by Israel in an effort to both widen the scope of the ongoing conflict and crank up public hatred of Iran. To underline, this is merely speculation.
On social media, a report is circulating from Al Arabiya saying that Saudi Arabia and Qatar have arrested Mossad agents caught planting bombs in Gulf countries. This isn’t a smoking gun and appears to be a hoax, as it’s been officially denied by Al Arabiya themselves:
Al Arabiya English has learned from its sources that claims alleging that Saudi Arabia and Qatar had arrested Mossad agents planting bombs in Gulf countries are baseless and untrue.

But it’s worth pondering what would happen if the British government learned for a fact that its base had been attacked by Israel. Would they even admit that publicly? Doing so would drastically turn public opinion against Israel in the UK (and it’s not great to begin with) and cause a huge international incident.
The UK is reliant on Donald Trump’s kindness at the moment, so if they openly criticize Israel or Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump could wage economic war against them. The easier option might just be to lie about it and grudgingly join the war against Iran.
Once again, this is only speculation. But some mysterious person or organization is launching these drones, and it doesn’t seem to be Iran. Here’s hoping we get to the bottom of this soon.
