Apparently mail-in voting is ‘cheating’ but Trump just confessed to voting via mail ballot in Florida claiming it’s ok ‘because I’m president’

It's one rule for Donald Trump and another for the rest.

Donald Trump has spent months, no, years shouting from the rooftops about his disdain for mail-in voting. The president has falsely claimed that the standard practice amounts to cheating on many occasions, so you’d think the man would make a point to show up to vote in person in the Florida elections right? Right?

Well apparently Trump only thinks mail-in voting is cheating when Democrats do it because he was more than happy to cast a mail ballot despite literally being in Palm Beach, Florida. It wouldn’t have been much trouble at all for him to vote in person but Trump is apparently so lazy and lacking in principles that he’s willing to make use of a system when it suits him.

Of course, we already know that Donald Trump is a hypocrite but he still tried to make up excuses when called out on it by reporters. His excuse? “Because I’m president of the United States.” That’s right, Donald Trump essentially just said it’s alright for him to use a system he considers cheating because he’s the president.

When you think about it, his argument really doesn’t make much sense at all. Why would mail-in voting suddenly not be considered cheating just because it’s Donald Trump and not some average Joe? Unless mail-in voting was never cheating and Trump and his MAGA cronies have been pushing a false narrative this whole time?

Trump’s just full of excuses

The president went on to claim that he voted via mail because he “couldn’t be there,” but this is another lie. According to NBC News, early in-person voting was available in Florida’s House District 87 special election at two locations in Palm Beach county between March 14th and March 22nd. Trump was confirmed to have been at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach from March 20th to March 22nd, meaning he could have easily voted in person had he wanted to.

His decision to vote via mail suggests he’s not as worried about voter fraud as he claims, otherwise why not vote in person? His excuse that it’s alright “because I’m president” is not a good enough explanation. “RULES FOR THEE BUT NOT FOR ME, PEASANTS.” one person on X wrote in a response mocking the president’s claim.

While there’s nothing wrong with Trump deciding to vote via mail, there is something wrong with him doing so after years of claiming that the system allows for fraud. He’s claimed many times in the past that mail-in voting amounts to cheating with no evidence whatsoever to back up his claims. He’s previously encouraged voters to show up in person rather than mail-in and yet, when it came to following his own advice his own laziness got the better of him.
