A strange moment broadcast on Fox News has received widespread attention as many believe it is proof that the attempted shooting during the White House Correspondents Dinner was staged.
Mere minutes after the news broke about the attempted shooting at the event people online were already speculating that it was staged. For many it seemed too convenient, occurring right as Donald Trump’s approval rating was plummeting. Fox News was among the first to break the news after shots were fired at the Hilton Hotel.
Reporter Aisah Hasnie, who was present at the event, spoke over the phone to give Fox News an inside look at the chaos which broke out in the Hilton on Saturday. Hasnie had been sitting with Karoline Leavitt’s husband, Nicholas Riccio, 60, and the Press Secretary’s husband had some interesting things to say.
“The Press Secretary’s husband was one of our guests; he was sitting right next to me.” Hasnie stated, going on to claim that, right before the national anthem started, Riccio leaned over and told her “I watched you on TV, you do a great job, but you need to be very safe.” According to the reporter Riccio “was very serious when he said that to me, and he kind of looked around the room and he said, you know, ‘there are some—’” and this is where the phone call cut off.
After the unexpected cut-off, the Fox News host can be heard saying, “Sounds like we lost Aisah’s phone there and this happens by the way, especially when you have so many people attempting to utilize the same cell service at the same time.”
Is Fox News covering something?
While calls do drop from time to time many online noted the strangely convenient timing. It seemed like Hasnie was about to say something very important right before she was cut off. It sounded like she was insinuating that Riccio knew something was about to happen but she never got round to saying it outright.
The current theory being shared on social media is that Fox News cut the call to prevent Hasnie from accidentally spilling the beans. “fox news really said let’s just cut the feed real quick huh” wrote one person. The anchor’s over-explaining regarding the call suddenly dropping also raised a few eyebrows. Others pointed to other strange coincidences such as Karoline Leavitt telling a reporter “there will be some shots fired tonight,” prior to the shooting attempt. Others questioned how the gunman was able to get past security so easily.
All in all people are just finding it a bit hard to swallow the supposed facts about the incident that occurred on Saturday. Trump has also made full use of the incident to push for the completion of the White House Ballroom, arguing it “would never have happened with the Militarily Top Secret Ballroom.” Was this all a ploy to gain public favor for Trump’s silly vanity project while perhaps boosting his approval rating?
