‘But I’m a youth pastor!’: West Virginia MAGA pastor allegedly tried to solicit sex from minor, his excuse when caught doesn’t help his case

A West Virginia Pastor has been branded a “MAGA pedo” online after he was caught allegedly soliciting a teenage girl for sex online. Pastor Kevin Jones, seen wearing the same “Freedom” shirt that Charlie Kirk wore on the day of his shooting, was arrested and charged with soliciting minors.

Jones was arrested back in October 2025 with charges recently brought against him. Footage of him being confronted in public has also seen a great deal of attention online, with the tense interaction being viewed half a million times on X.

The footage, which was shared by Anonymous on X, shows a man approaching Kevin Jones in a store. In the clip the man can be heard asking Jones “What are you doing here?” Jones responds claiming he was “looking for some things,” he is then asked if he is there to meet anybody before the man accuses him of talking to underage girls about sex online.

When told that the man needs to make sure he isn’t a threat Jones responds by telling him, “Sir, I’m a youth pastor,” which doesn’t exactly make him look any better. The man then asks, “Is that you that’s talking to my decoy?” eliciting a surprised reaction from the pastor.

Kevin Jones is not the first MAGA pastor to face such charges

Online people weren’t exactly shocked by the news. One person claimed that conservatives and MAGA individuals were constantly projecting, “They are obsessed with the private lives of others, their sex lives, gender, pronouns,” they wrote, adding, “all that bs, while wolves are eating them alive in their own churches.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an individual who identifies with MAGA or the church be charged with such heinous acts. Last month, an anti-LGBTQ Florida Pastor was handed three life sentences after he was found to be in possession of child sexual abuse material. 

While Jones has yet to be convicted, people online have seen this same story play out countless times. “It’s an epidemic among clergy and preachers,” one X post reads, “Another magaT PEDOPHILE WOW WHAT A SURPRISE,” added another.

Considering many right-wing, MAGA-supporting Americans claim to be trying to protect children, they sure seem to love turning a blind eye to actual sexual abuse involving children. From MAGA pastors all the way up to the president himself, whose name appears countless times in the Epstein files. I guess a “MAGA pedo,” as Anonymous put it, doesn’t fit into their narrative that it’s the leftist, liberal, LGBTQ ideologies that are actually harming the children.
