‘$150 and it’s not even full’: Kentucky man’s gas station meltdown goes viral after he calls out stay-at-home MAGA moms

Gas prices are hitting regular Americans hard.

A Kentucky man’s rant about the high cost of diesel gas has gone viral, but it’s not just the price that’s getting attention – it’s his dig at stay-at-home MAGA moms. Blake Reynolds, a former Trump supporter from Kentucky, posted a video of himself at a gas station after spending $150 on diesel for his pickup truck, only to get three-quarters of a tank. In the video, he points out that a gallon of diesel now costs $5.50 in his state.

According to The Nerdstash, Reynolds made it clear that he uses his truck to make a living, and said he doesn’t need stay-at-home moms telling him to just deal with it. “And ya’ll wonder why some of us are pissed off,” he said in the video. The post quickly racked up millions of views on Instagram, with many people agreeing with him.

It’s worth noting that Reynolds voted for Trump twice and even posed with Donald Trump Jr. at a Republican convention. But it seems his views have shifted, and he’s now speaking out against the administration’s policies on fuel costs.

High gas prices are hitting working people the hardest, and the numbers back it up

Reynolds’ post sparked a heated debate online, with many commenters blaming the Trump administration for the rising fuel costs. One person wrote, “TRUMP DID THAT” in response to the video. Others pushed back, arguing that gas prices were also high during the Obama and Biden years.

Some people called out Reynolds for driving a diesel pickup truck, suggesting the high cost was his own problem. “Driving a diesel PU is your problem, you are competing with large trucks for the same fuel supply, thus paying $2 more a gallon for very little gain makes ZERO SENSE.   Trade it in for a gas powered truck,” one commentator wrote.

But Reynolds appeared focused on the bigger picture – how rising gas prices are making life harder for everyday working people. Other commenters also brought up the rising cost of groceries and medications, saying high gas prices are only adding to the pressure.

Kentucky has also been in the news for other troubling reasons, such as the case of a Kentucky couple sentenced for torturing children, highlighting how vulnerable residents in the state continue to face serious hardships.

The situation in Kentucky is particularly bad, with the average gas price hitting $4.31 per gallon. A 10-cent gas tax cut was recently put in place, but research suggests drivers may not see the full benefit. According to WKYT, studies show that only about 58% to 87% of a gas tax cut actually gets passed on to customers at the pump.

At the federal level, an 18-cent-per-gallon gas tax holiday has been proposed, but critics warn it could cost the Highway Trust Fund more than $17 billion. So while the tax cut sounds like relief on paper, the long-term impact could be significant.

As one commenter put it, “This isn’t short term, this will be long term pain.” The state has also seen other stories of people in desperate situations, including a homeless Kentucky woman fatally crushed by a garbage truck while sleeping in an alley, a case that her family is now pursuing legal action over.
