TikToker Emily just took to the platform to share her latest ordeal with Frontier Airlines that has left her swearing off the airline for good. She posted to TikTok under the handle quietly.emily, detailing a series of unfortunate events that turned a simple trip into a logistical nightmare.
Emily started her video by lamenting that “Every time I fly Frontier, I tell myself, I’m never gonna do this again. It’s not worth it. And then I, like, go to book another flight.” She claimed she always regrets it and even doubled down in the caption, writing, “Why do they insist on stabbing me in back EVERY TIME.” She told the community that one of the reasons she picked Frontier was that she had to make a last-minute booking.
This time, the trouble truly started when Emily realized that she had booked her flights for the wrong dates. She contacted customer service to fix things, but they allegedly told her, “Oh, no, I’m really sorry. You can’t change your flight because it’s over 24 hours.” When she asked about paying to fix her error, she was told it would be $129 per person per way. With herself and two children, the total came to $780. There were additional fees, so she looked for another way.
It took a lot of research
According to Frontier policies, change fees for basic or standard tickets purchased on or after June 5, 2026, are $129 if the change is made six days or less before departure. Emily eventually found a workaround.
She explained, “Long story short, I have to upgrade my flight. Cost me $500. Perfect. Then. Then I have to pay a change fee because there was a change fee with the freaking tickets in the dates. Another $400. So at $900, I should just freaking flown first class on another flipping flight.” In the comments section, she clarified the cost quoted by Frontier: “It was $780 just to change the flight but then I had to pay for the fee change which was $1,000. So it was $1780.”
That was just the start. When she arrived at the airport with her children, a stroller, a bag-carried daughter, and her luggage, she faced issues with the weight limit. Emily noted that Frontier enforces a strict 40-pound limit for checked bags. She then claimed that her bag was weighed at 40 pounds the night before, but at the airport, it was flagged as 41.2 pounds.
She recalled, “I’m like, okay, it’s 41.2. You can’t just, like, let it slide. I have two kids. Can you just let this one slide? And they’re like, no, sorry.” After being told to move to the side to lighten her bag, she eventually returned to the counter, only to be told the bag was still 40.2 pounds.
She asked the agent to put the bag on the belt so she wouldn’t have to remove more items, and she claimed the agent “threw that sucker on the belt.” She added, “I’m like thank god there was nothing fragile in there, cause everything would have been broken.”
The final straw occurred during boarding for her connecting flight. Despite paying for her seats, she discovered she had been separated from her young children. She said, “I have a one and a two-year-old, like, I can’t be separated from them. They can’t sit separately from me.”
In fact, Frontier policy states that if a reservation includes a child 13 or younger, the airline guarantees they will sit next to an accompanying adult at no extra cost, provided they are on the same reservation, and adjacent seats are available. Emily stated that she ended up having to negotiate with other passengers to rearrange seats so she could sit with her children.
TikTok was mostly on her side. One user wrote, “You literally could not pay me to fly that airline.” However, another questioned her, writing, “I don’t think all of this would have happened if you booked the right dates. I have never had an issue with Frontier.”
Emily is now pleading for her followers to keep her honest. “Hold me accountable! I’m not flying frontier ever again. Hold me accountable! Don’t let me do it. If I come out on here, I’m like, I might fly frontier again. Be like, Emily, pay the extra thousand dollars. Do it. It’s not freaking worth it.”
Emily isn’t the only passenger who has had a rough time with Frontier lately. Recently, an LA musician found himself blacklisted, all because he bought a ticket for his DJ. Not long before that, a Maryland woman was forced to leave her flight because she had paid too little.
