North Carolina woman buys a $235 item from Target but received an empty box. Target customer service literally said ‘There’s nothing we can do’

"I'm literally shaking."

Unboxing an expensive online purchase is a satisfying reward for your hard-earned money. But discovering an empty box instead can instantly induce a state of shock. North Carolina creator Ashley recently alleged that a $235 delivery left her locked in a defensive battle against Target.

In a visibly shaken video that has clocked in nearly 200,000 views, Ashley (TikTok/@thoughtsafter30) detailed an alleged retail nightmare that unfolded right on her front porch. A standard package drop-off quickly mutated into a harsh lesson for her on corporate indifference.

Through the video, Ashley stresses on the vulnerability digital consumers face when distribution pipelines fail.

Target allegedly delivered an empty box with a huge cut on the side

In the video, Ashley claimed that she had placed an online Target order for a premium product costing $235. Because it was a valuable asset rather than a cheap household item, she eagerly tracked the shipment progress all the way to her residence.

However, her excitement dissolved the second she physically handled the package. Looking over the cardboard exterior, she allegedly made a disturbing discovery. According to her, the side of the box had a clean, deliberate slit where an anonymous individual had sliced open the seal.

Ashley reasoned that someone must have used the slit to extracted the content of the box. “I am literally shaking,” Ashley confessed into her camera lens. She was in sheer disbelief of watching a local carrier drop off an allegedly weightless, violated container.

Target phone agents allgedly offered zero support for the transit failure

Assuming that a multibillion-dollar enterprise would easily rectify a case of transit theft, Ashley claimed she dialed Target’s helpline. However, the response from the administrative desk broke her customer support expectations.

Instead of issuing a replacement or facilitating a refund, the representatives allegedly refused to take any accountability for the incident. Despite the visual proof that the item was stolen prior to the physical drop-off, the service desk gave her a cold, definitive shutdown, according to Ashley.

“Target will not refund or even consider replacing the item. This is not my fault,” Ashley emphasized. The total basic lack of empathy visibly blew her away. “And I’m being told like, ‘Yeah, there’s nothing we can do. Sorry. Sorry for that.’”

Target’s allegedly indifferent response led to a boycott by Ashley

To compound the absolute frustration, Ashley pointed out that the $235 loss is exceptionally painful given the current holiday shopping rush. While a massive corporate entity might process a couple hundred dollars as background noise, it represents a massive financial hit for an ordinary family trying to navigate seasonal budgets.

“If it was $20, okay, fine, I get it. That sucks, darn,” Ashley remarked. “It is the holidays! And like, even if it wasn’t, that’s a lot of money for people.” The creator then permanently closed the door on her history with the brand.

Ashley aligned herself with the growing public movement currently boycotting the retail giant. She ended her video by stating she has absolute zero desire to ever spend a single penny inside their aisles again.

So far, Target hasn’t adddessed her eyebrow-raising allegations.
