Nashville woman’s best friend leaves her $4K hair & makeup kit in a parking lot after clash. Then cuts off all contact: ‘Staying at my place rent free’

It was about trust.

A friendship breakup, although often understated, can end up being one of the most defining events in a person’s life. That may explain why a TikTok post by popular beauty influencer Belen (@sunflower.power) racked up almost 1.8 million views after she showed her followers the aftermath of a disagreement with her former best friend that unfolded in a Nashville parking lot at 5 a.m.

The video, which features the infamous saxophone sound, shows an abandoned black ballistic-nylon rolling case next to several smaller bags that are not completely zipped up in the middle of the parking lot. Belen then checks inside the bags, and the camera reveals rows of pristine, color-coded cosmetic palettes and neatly bundled brushes pressed against a plastic casing.

It was about broken trust

In the caption, Belen alleges that everything shown in the video is worth up to $4,000. But after she fell out with a friend named Megan, she says her former friend put all of their merchandise at risk by leaving it in the parking lot without any concern for whether it might be lost. She also says Megan had been handed everything in life and that’s why she was acting that way. She even claimed that Megan had lived with her for free for two months.

Belen says she would have tagged her former friend, but Megan had blocked her, making that impossible. She also used the caption to give more context about why they fell out, explaining that the issue was about more than money and instead came down to broken trust.

Belen explained that their falling out happened after they went to a pool party for the July 4th celebrations, which was an hour away from their home. When they got there, they stayed at the pool party until 7 p.m. before deciding to go to Barstool Nashville.

That’s where the two started having differences. Belen says someone began antagonizing her in the line to enter the venue, so she decided to leave. Megan didn’t want to leave, so Belen left her there. The two then got into a back-and-forth of increasingly aggressive phone calls that ended with Megan blocking her.

She was going to work that morning

The only problem was that the following day, Belen had a wedding where she was supposed to do the bride’s makeup. Megan had Belen’s bag, while Belen had Megan’s bag. Their argument therefore became about Belen getting her bag back so she could do her job the next morning.

Belen said she was particularly angry that, instead of leaving the bag at the lobby, Megan decided to leave it in a parking lot, even though she believed that was completely unnecessary. One user, after hearing the entire 17-minute storytime, wrote, “A friendship of over 10 years, and you realize you never truly knew that person. It’s heartbreaking when someone you trusted so deeply ends up hurting you in ways you never imagined. No one who genuinely values you should treat you that way. Sometimes the hardest lesson is realizing that not everyone deserves a permanent place in your life, no matter how many years you’ve shared.”

But another wrote, “Nahh. When you said you left her in line, you lost my attention. I’m with her.”

Megan, on the other hand, has yet to give her side of things.
