Austin man sees Sam’s Club selling Rotisserie Ribs for $16.98. There’s one problem as the first try immediately makes him hesitate: ‘Look at that’

Not perfect.

An Austin-based TikTok creator’s trip to Sam’s Club has drawn attention online after he shared a video showing rotisserie ribs on sale for $16.98, a product he said he had never seen at the store before. The video was posted by an account called foodie_gabe_said_try_it and has been viewed 151,900 times.

In the TikTok video, the creator first points out the store’s regular rotisserie chicken. He says, “So here at Sam’s, they are selling their rotisserie chickens, 3-pound rotisserie chickens for $4.98.” A price sign shown in the video confirms this price.

The camera then moves to a lower shelf, where packages of rotisserie baby back ribs are displayed. This is where the quote from the headline comes in, as the creator says, “But now I, this is my first time seeing this, that they’re selling rotisserie baby back. Look at that!”

Creator says he plans to try the ribs despite pointing out a downside

A sign next to the ribs in the video reads “ROTISSERIE BABY BACK RIBS” and lists the price as $16.98. The creator confirms this price himself, saying, “And these are going for $16.98. I’m gonna get this one,” as he reaches for a package.

Honestly the ones I got were a little salty but I’m give them another try! @Sam’s Club #samsclub #ribs #pov #samsclubfinds

In the caption of the video, the creator gave his own take on the product, writing, “Honestly the ones I got were a little salty but I’m give them another try!” He tagged Sam’s Club in the caption along with the hashtags #samsclub, #ribs, #pov, and #samsclubfinds.

The video shows the ribs are sold in the refrigerated section alongside the store’s rotisserie chickens. Both products are shown with their price tags visible on camera, and the transcript of the video confirms the prices spoken by the creator match the signage shown.

The video does not show the creator eating the ribs or reacting to the taste on camera. His comment about the ribs being “a little salty” appears only in the text caption, separate from the spoken parts of the video.

The video has drawn a large number of comments from viewers sharing their own experiences with rotisserie ribs and chicken from Sam’s Club and other stores. Many commenters compared the product to a similar one sold at Costco.

One commenter wrote, “Costco is so much better.” Another said, “They are just copying Costco. I’ve had the ones at Costco and they were great.” Not all comments were negative, as one person wrote, “Sam’s ribs are delicious!”

Several commenters raised concerns about the taste and quality of the ribs specifically. One wrote, “salty and not sauced. save your money.” Another commenter who said they bought the ribs from both stores wrote, “Hard no from me. I bought these at Sams and Costco. Super salty with no other seasonings and wayyy overcooked.” Sam’s Club’s rotisserie offerings have drawn other quality concerns, such as when a shopper found a disturbing discovery in her chicken

Other commenters shared complaints about the rotisserie chicken sold at the store rather than the ribs. One person wrote, “I feel like the chicken that they cook is undercooked.” Another wrote, “I stopped buying a rotisserie chicken. It’s always raw inside and never cooked well.” Beyond the ribs, quality control concerns at Sam’s Club include a Missouri man who found a vomit-inducing surprise in lamb chops.

Some commenters focused on the pricing of the ribs compared to the chicken. One wrote, “Shouldn’t it be like $10 since the uncooked ribs be like $12 and the rotisserie chicken is $5 and the uncooked ones like $10.” Another commenter joked, “So basically you’re telling us to purchase 3 of the rotisserie chickens for a better deal.”
