For the best friend of UK creator George Ogden (@senordoofy), matching with a stranger on Hinge apparently opened a Pandora’s box of psychotic behavior and stalking.
In a viral TikTok sitting at over 270,000 views, Ogden broke down how his friend’s first date spiraled into a psychological thriller. We’ve heard stories of Hinge dates turning out to be married with kids, but this time, the woman allegedly outdid every red flag guy on Hinge ever.
The date allegedly started with intense personal trauma dumping by the woman. But in the following days, it reportedly got worse. Not “judging and insulting your date” worse. It turned “pregnancy threats and an uninvited 90-minute drive to his local coffee shop” worse.
An unprompted trauma dump derailed their first date dinner, followed by a ‘baby-trap’ text
The horror story began after the friend matched with a girl on Hinge and agreed to grab food together at a restaurant two weeks later. While initial chit-chat seemed completely normal, the conversation allegedly took a jarring left turn without warning.
Out of nowhere, the woman casually dropped a major disclosure: just one month prior, she had attempted to end her life with pills due to family conflict. Now, being vulnerable about personal struggles can foster connection in a long-term relationship. But dropping a severe mental health crisis onto a stranger during appetizers is a massive red flag.
But instead of taking a step back, the friend, hoping to be a “nice guy” and support her, allegedly continued talking to her. However, matters escalated dramatically in the days following the initial date. Or, in Ogden’s words, the woman allegedly “ended up being one of the most psychotic people on planet Earth.”
According to Ogden, she allegedly began sending deeply concerning text messages to his friend. Per his account, she even explicitly confessed that she intended to “baby-trap” him. Ogden detailed disturbing physical scenarios proposed by the woman, where she allegedly claimed she would prevent him from leaving during intimacy to force a pregnancy.
Despite the unhinged threats, Ogden’s friend allegedly kept responding casually. But little did he know that her fixations were about to move from text messages to real life.
An uninvited cross-country drive ended in a coffee shop ambush
The situation reached peak terror on a random weekday morning while the friend was working remotely at a local cafe in his hometown. During a casual text exchange, the woman asked what he was up to. The friend allegedly innocently mentioned his location to her.
Two hours later, he reportedly looked toward the cafe window only to find her face pressed against the glass, staring directly at him. Mind you, she had allegedly driven an hour and a half from Halifax unannounced. She then walked through the doors, sat opposite him, and revealed she had packed an overnight bag in her car, demanding to sleep at his place.
To this, the friend purportedly refused to let her stay. In turn, she allegedly sat watching him work in silence and eventually spent the entire night sleeping in her car outside, hoping he would cave. Yet, as Ogden revealed in utter disbelief at the end of his video, his friend still had not blocked her number and continued to entertain conversations with her.
As a word of advice, if someone shows you who they are during a first date, believe them the first time. If a date talks about baby-trapping and shows up unannounced with an overnight bag, don’t play the nice guy. It’s better to hit block and run the other way.
