John Wayne Gacy is one of the most notorious serial killers in American history, known for raping, torturing, and murdering at least 33 men and boys at his Chicago home, and for his hobby of performing at children’s hospitals as “Pogo the Clown”. Gacy was executed by lethal injection in 1994, but now it appears his brain (or at least part of it) wasn’t cremated with the rest of him.
As per Action News 5, in mid-August in Madison, Wisconsin, cops executed a search warrant on Benjamin C. Larson, 47, who has been charged with one count of stalking. Larson is accused of stalking a woman who says she dated him for two months in 2013, with her alleging he launched a campaign of harassment against her, made veiled threats against her family, and attempted to harm her career with spurious complaints.
The report alleges that when cops walked into Larson’s home, they encountered a macabre collection that included a jar “with a label indicating that it contained a piece of John Wayne Gacy’s brain”. They also discovered six human skulls, a partial human skull, a human jawbone, and other skeleton remains believed to be human.

Gacy’s brain wasn’t the only serial killer-related find. In the basement was apparently a rubbing of Ed Gein’s grave, ten binders labeled “Edward Gein Book”, objects purportedly from Ed Gein’s grave, and what’s described as “cartridges similar to those used by the Zodiac Killer.”
This real-life house of horrors doesn’t stop there, as cops are also said to have found a mummy labeled “Princes Taheb 1600 BC” and, in a padlocked basement room, a lifelike silicone doll with a painting of a naked woman resembling the stalking victim hanging above it.
They went on to find Larson’s handwritten journals, within which he’s alleged to have expressed frustration over the stalking victim’s family and marriage, with cops saying he wrote that “it’s at time like this where I really ache to take their skulls, all of them.” Other entries detailed a night where Larson had donned gloves and a mask and observed the victim from outside her house while armed with a machete.
The sheriff’s office has said they’re busy trying to figure out what’s going on here. Larson has reportedly told them all communication with the victim was normal, and (as per the report) “he now realized her lack of contact was a response itself.” They have also tapped forensic anthropologists to examine the human remains, with many having been deemed to be ancient Native American in origin. The investigation continues.
