Sarai Jones was four days into a trip to Italy when her best friend Marissa called. It was late morning in Positano and the middle of the night back in Seattle, so Jones says she knew the call was unusual. Marissa was crying before she’d even explained what had happened.
Jones says Marissa hesitated, not wanting to ruin the trip from across the world. She told her to say it anyway and later said she was glad she pushed, since she still had about a week and a half left of her vacation.
According to the TikTok video posted by Jones, Marissa had been inside Cowgirls, a Seattle bar, for roughly two minutes before she spotted the man Jones refers to as “Urgent Care guy” holding hands with another woman. Marissa confronted the pair on the spot. Jones says the woman admitted they had kissed, while the guy denied it.
Marissa caught him just two minutes after walking into the bar
“Guys, I have videos of all of this. Marissa took videos and pictures, everything,” Jones said. None of that footage appears in the video she posted. Marissa wasn’t the only friend to end up with evidence of someone else’s alleged cheating. A Colorado woman previously received photos of her boyfriend with someone else. Jones says the argument between Marissa and the guy lasted about 45 minutes inside the bar.
She then tried calling the man herself. He didn’t pick up, so she called his best friend instead, who told her, “Yo, I think he was drunk. I don’t know.” Told he was asleep, she said to wake him up.
When she finally got him on the phone, Jones says he continued denying the kiss. “He’s fully denying the kiss,” Jones said, before recounting his explanation that “holding hands doesn’t mean anything.” She says she asked how he’d feel if she did the same with another man. Their confrontation played out entirely over a transatlantic phone call. Finding out something like this through a phone screen is bad enough. It gets worse when the guy you’re dating allegedly forgets he’s screen-sharing during a FaceTime call.
His next explanation, per Jones, was that they were only holding hands to get through the entrance because the bar was busy. She says that didn’t match the footage Marissa had already sent her, prompting her to ask, “Why was it empty?”
The line Jones circles back to most is the one about timing. She says the guy argued Marissa had caught him “at a bad time.” She replied, “No, this was perfect timing, actually.”
Most commenters were on Marissa’s side. “Man she’s a real ass friend, I love her,” one commenter wrote. Another tied it back to Jones’s ongoing TikTok storyline: “he cheated on THE KRAZYRAYRAY.” A third wasn’t buying the entrance excuse either: “Holding hands means NOTHING?! Okay Kenzie with the ‘kissing is like a handshake’ omg I’m so sorry Sarai!”
Jones ended the video by describing herself pacing the balcony of her Airbnb in Positano during the call, joking that the whole town probably heard her side of it. She said there was more she wished she could include but left the story there.
