Woman is done with DoorDash after driver ate her food. She gives the strangest excuse imaginable: ‘I thought you ordered it for me’

'She had one job'

A DoorDash order turned into a long exchange on a customer’s doorstep after a delivery driver was pressed about what happened to the food between the restaurant and her front door. The exchange, posted to TikTok by a creator named Ashley, centers on the driver’s explanation for what happened to the food.

The clip opens on a fairly ordinary note. Ashley greets the driver, asks for a pen, and reads off an order number, 9273, before the driver hands something over. From there the tone shifts fast. Ashley looks at the item, then at the driver, and asks, “Did you eat my food, ma’am?” The driver’s first response is confusion. “Huh?” she says, seemingly caught off guard by the direct accusation.

What follows is the driver’s attempt to explain the missing portion of the order. She tells Ashley, “This is my first date doing DoorDash,” a slip that appears to mean her first day on the job, before adding that she thought Ashley had ordered the food for her. Pressed further, she asks, “I, uh, what, what, what did I do wrong?”

The DoorDash driver thought the food was for her

Ashley keeps pressing, at one point saying, “Look at her face” to the camera as the driver’s expression shifts. When Ashley again tells her, “You ate my food,” the driver repeats, “I thought you ordered it for me.” She then adds, “It’s my first day on the job. I don’t know what to do.”

It isn’t the only order this year where something reportedly went missing between pickup and drop-off under circumstances a customer found hard to explain. Ashley keeps pressing, at one point saying, “Look at her face” to the camera as the driver’s expression shifts. She later asks, seemingly unrelated to the food, “You pregnant?” a question the driver doesn’t answer directly.

The comments on the video are split between disbelief and outright skepticism. One commenter zeroed in on the driver’s explanation, writing, “Hold on did she really just say ‘I thought you ordered the food for me’??????”

Another wasn’t convinced any of it happened the way it’s presented, arguing, “this has to be rage bait.” A third took the explanation at face value and said flatly, “I would have called door dash and reported her to get fired and get my money back.”

Whether viewers believe the driver’s explanation or not, the possibility that she ate the customer’s food clearly struck a nerve in the comments. Earlier this year, a delivery driver turned a customer’s order into a mukbang after a dispute with the person waiting for it. The video doesn’t show whether the order was ever replaced, but the driver’s claim that it was her first day and she thought Ashley had ordered the food for her explains why a missing order turned into such a long conversation at the front door.
