World War Z Super Bowl Spot Arrives Early

Super Bowl Sunday is upon us and that means we're about to be assaulted by a whole bunch of TV spots for some very high profile films. Some studios are getting a head start though and today, Paramount has released the World War Z Super Bowl spot online for your viewing pleasure. While most spots, especially Super Bowl ones, usually contain a lot of new footage, there isn't too much of that here, unfortunately. In fact, it's fairly similar to the trailer that we saw a few months back.

Super Bowl Sunday is upon us and that means we’re about to be assaulted by a whole bunch of TV spots for some very high profile films. Some studios are getting a head start though and today, Paramount has released the World War Z Super Bowl spot online for your viewing pleasure. While most spots, especially Super Bowl ones, usually contain a lot of new footage, there isn’t too much of that here, unfortunately. In fact, it’s fairly similar to the trailer that we saw a few months back.

Now, as you may or may not know, the entire third act of the film was re-shot a few months ago, so they may not have a ton of footage to use. Besides, what’s here is pretty exciting. I was on board with the trailer when I first saw it and I’m still eager to check this one out in theatres.

Brad Pitt should be a big enough draw but with some strong source material, a nice summer release date (June 21st) and a well rounded supporting cast (Mireille Enos and James Badge Dale, among others), World War Z is poised to be a pretty big deal, at least for me.

I know the film has been plagued by many, many production troubles but it looks like everything is finally coming together nicely and I’m really excited for this one.

For those who don’t know, the film will star Pitt as a United Nations employee “who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.” If you’ve read the book, you know what to expect. If not, check out the spot below, it should give you a pretty good idea.

World War Z will invade theatres on June 21st, 2013. In the meantime, check out the trailer below and then head down to the comments and let us know what you think.
