With Pixar’s sequel Cars 2 close to completion, 2 new cast members have been added into the mix. British comedian Eddie Izzard and character actor John Turturro will take what sound to be minor parts among the star studded voice cast which includes: Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Michael Keaton, Jason Isaacs and Emily Mortimer among others.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Izzard will play Miles Axelrod, an ex-oil baron who developed a conscience and turned to electricity as a clean energy source. Turturro will voice a Formula 1 car called Francesco Bernoulli, the racetrack rival to Lightning McQueen in this instalment. To be honest its hard to get too excited about Cars 2 considering the first film was one of the rare Pixar misfires, plus the trailer isn’t convincing me that this will be any better. The film will be released June 24th 2011 in 3D.
