Hollywood is ragin’ on the apocalypse at the moment. This year has already seen the effects of the end of the world in the sci-fi bleakscape Oblivion and This Is The End, The World’s End, After Earth and Elysium will bust further blocks later this summer. One flick tackling the same subject that may have escaped your attention however is Rapture-Palooza. Flying low on the cinematic radar, the horror comedy has its first red band trailer online, along with a new poster.

Written by the chap behind both Bill & Teds, Chris Matheson, and directed by Paul Middleditch, Rapture-Palooza has a cast that exceeds expectation for a little genre romp. Anna Kendrick and John Francis Daley, two actors who’ve got the skilful cajones for drama AND comedy lead this tale of a post-rapture couple. Dealing with life on earth after practically the entire planet have been beamed up to heaven, the two try to live a normal existence. Despite a host of oddities. Including the devil crushing on Kendrick. And a pothead zombie living next door. And….well, you get the idea.

The first red band trailer for the flick makes no bones about what it is. It’s the three-way hybrid offspring of John Dies At The End, Superbad and Zombieland. Got your interest now eh? Except…there’s more swearing….from animals. There’s a ton of funny material in the clip, which we won’t spoil for you. So give it a watch. Stealing the best jokes in the trailer are co-stars Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson in the role of a rather suave Anti-Christ.

Rounding out the cast are Ken Jeong, Thomas Lennon, Ana Gasteyer, Tyler Sabine and Rob Huebel. You can check out the red band trailer and the rather lovely Anna Kendrick on the new poster below.

Rapture-Palooza hits cinemas and VOD on June 7th in the U.S.
