Developer Harmonix has made good on their promise yesterday to unveil a new game, and the result is definitely something unpredictable: Fantasia: Music Evolved, a Kinect-driven rhythm game drawing inspiration from the classic Disney film, with versions on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Players will be able to use their arms to respond to on-screen symbols and orchestrate various tunes, as well as switch between alternate remixes in real time and control various freestyle sections for each song. Unlike the original film’s classical orchestrated score, however, Music Evolved will make use of more contemporary artists, including Bruno Mars, Fun., and Queen.

Actual gameplay footage has yet to be released, but a teaser trailer showcasing the sorts of motions players can expect to perform in the game can be viewed below. It’s likely that we’ll get some more concrete details and media for the game at E3 next week, though, considering Microsoft’s heavy emphasis on Kinect products.

Fantasia: Music Evolved is currently scheduled for an unspecified 2014 release date on both Xbox One and Xbox 360. We will keep you updated as more news is announced. In the meantime, feel free to post your thoughts on the game’s announcement in the comments section below.
