Here at We Got This Covered, we’re all eagerly anticipating the third season of BBC’s Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. The contemporary take on the classic literary character is a huge success and is hands down one of the best things currently on television.

Co-creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss left fans on a wild cliffhanger with the season 2 finale, The Reichenbach Fall, and we’ve been waiting with baited breath ever since to see how things will pick up. Though plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, we can now confirm that the show will have a panel at the 2013 International Comic-Con in San Diego, which is taking place later this month.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling issues, Cumberbatch and Freeman won’t be in attendance but producer Sue Vertue will be there along with Gatiss and Moffat. Footage from the season three premiere is also expected to be shown.

Aside from the Comic-Con confirmation, we have some more news on when you can expect to see the much anticipated third season. It will likely air on the BBC in October and PBS should have it in early 2014, possibly even by January.

That’s about all the Sherlock news for now and until Comic-Con, there likely won’t be anymore. Be sure to check back in a few weeks though as we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the news that arises from the convention.

In the meantime, tell us, do you have any theories or ideas for how Moffat and Gatiss will kick off season 3? What do you want to see in the new season? Let us know in the comments below.
