Is Johnny Depp In Hugo Cabret?

They've managed to keep it quiet. But in an image printed by French paper Le Parisien coming to us via The Playlist, it appears that Johnny Depp does have a role in Martin Scorsese's upcoming 3D family adventure, Hugo Cabret. He will play M. Rouleau (he can be seen on the left), who in the book is a painter that happens to run into our heroes through the narrative, I haven't read the book although by the sounds of it, the part isn't large.

The film finished wrapping a while ago. There were reports of struggles with the 3D on Scorsese’s behalf, but who knows how that will transpire in the editing and effects work. So far though, the signs are good, great director and a great cast which includes Asa Butterfield as the eponymous Hugo, Chloe Moretz, Ray Winstone, Ben Kingsley, Jude Law, Sacha Baron-Cohen and Michael Stuhlbarg among others. Hugo Cabret will be released in 3D around Thanksgiving.
