Idris Elba May Head To Jurassic World

Idris Elba seems to be the man of the moment. After cancelling the apocalypse in this summer's Pacific Rim and solving crimes on BBC's Luther, the actor will be seen next in Marvel's Thor: The Dark World as well as in the upcoming biopic Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, two films which are arriving with a solid amount of anticipation and buzz.

Idris Elba seems to be the man of the moment. After cancelling the apocalypse in this summer’s Pacific Rim and solving crimes on BBC’s Luther, the actor will be seen next in Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World as well as in the upcoming biopic Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, two films which are arriving with a solid amount of anticipation and buzz.

Jurassic World seems to be the movie of the moment. With an official release date and title all set, we’ve been hearing a large amount of casting news in recent weeks. Josh Brolin, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins and Bryce Dallas Howard have all booked trips to the dinosaur-filled world, with Jake Johnson and David Oyelowo rumored to be joining them on their adventure.

So, what happens when the man of the moment meets the movie of the moment? Great things, of course. And that’s exactly what’s happening here, as Idris Elba is rumored to be have his eye on a lead role in Jurassic World.

The Colin Trevorrow-directed blockbuster is set to be one of 2015’s biggest films, and though Elba’s involvement isn’t confirmed just yet, two completely different sources point to the fact that he’s going to show up here. It may be too soon to start getting excited but the thought of Elba going head to head with some dinos is almost too much to handle.

Idris Elba is one of my favorite actors right now and his quick ascent up the Hollywood ladder of fame is well deserved. It’s only been in recent years that he’s really broken out and to hear that he may be joining another huge blockbuster franchise makes me very happy. He’s an excellent actor and he deserves all of the fame and attention that he’s receiving right now. It’s about time he became a household name.
