The world premiere of The Last of Us‘ highly anticipated single player story-based DLC has been confirmed for this Thursday (November 14, 2013) at 11pm Eastern during Spike TV’s PlayStation 4 All Access.
Geoff Keighley announced the debut on his Twitter account, with the following message:
World premiere of THE LAST OF US story DLC from @naughtydog this Thursday during #PS4ALLACCESS live on Spike TV and online at 11 PM ET

Outside of a planned “December-January” release window and the promise of an “ambitious story with strong ties into the narrative of The Last of Us,” we do not currently have much information as to what Naughty Dog has planned for the upcoming DLC. Hopefully, the reveal this Thursday will shed some light on the content and consist of more than just a short teaser trailer.
The timing of the announcement is also interesting, as it takes place during a PlayStation 4 event. Naturally, this has kicked off speculation that we might also get a confirmation that The Last of Us is headed for a 1080p port on the next-gen console. While the possibility can’t be ruled out, I would be surprised if we actually see anything along those lines. It just seems counterproductive to announce a superior version of a game and at the same time try to sell a bit of related last-gen DLC.
We will be watching for whatever announcements come out of Thursday’s The Last of Us DLC premiere, and report back with all the details.
