First Trailer For Justin Bieber’s Believe Feels Very Unnecessary

Believe it or not (see what I did there?), The Biebs is putting out a second film about his life. The first effort, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, was only released roughly two years ago, back in 2011. So much has happened in the young pop sensation's life over the past couple of years though that it warrants another film being made about him. And so, we're now bracing for the release of Justin Bieber's Believe, which will arrive on December 25th, 2013.

Believe it or not (see what I did there?), The Biebs is putting out a second film about his life. The first effort, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, was only released roughly two years ago, back in 2011. So much has happened in the pop sensation’s life over the past couple of years though that it warrants another film being made about him. And so, we’re now bracing for the release of Justin Bieber’s Believe, which will arrive on December 25th, 2013.

Earlier this week we saw the first poster for the film, which was rather uninspired. The trailer, unfortunately, is not much better. It’s really just more of the same: concert footage spliced with interviews and behind the scenes footage of the 19 year old singer, all serving the purpose of reminding us why this kid is so special and why is career is so unbelievable.

Frankly, I just don’t see much difference between this film and the one we already saw. Call me a non-Belieber, but I struggle to find the point of putting out a second film so soon after the last one released. Why not wait until he crashes and burns to release another documentary about his career? Will Justin Bieber’s Believe really have anything new/different to say about its subject that we haven’t already heard before?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not doubting that Justin Bieber is insanely talented, because he is. I’ll be the first to admit it. But this film seems like nothing more than an opportunity to cash in on The Biebs’ staggering success. And cash in he will, make no mistake about that.
