Margot Robbie To Star As Jane In David Yates’ Tarzan

After capturing the attention of moviegoers worldwide with her excellent performance in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, Margot Robbie is now in negotiations for another large role: Jane in David Yates' upcoming big-budget reboot, Tarzan. Already starring Alexander Skarsgard, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson, the studio is said to be very pleased with Robbie's work in their upcoming film Focus and they now want to cast her in another high-profile project.

After capturing the attention of moviegoers worldwide with her excellent performance in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, Margot Robbie is now in negotiations for another large role: Jane in David Yates’ upcoming big-budget reboot, Tarzan. Already starring Alexander Skarsgard, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson, the studio is said to be very pleased with Robbie’s work in their upcoming film Focus and they now want to cast her in another high-profile project.

Tarzan has been in development for a while now and though it had some initial troubles getting off the ground, it looks as if things are moving full steam ahead on this one. With a leading lady now set, and the rest of the cast more or less filled out, the film should have no problem meeting its Summer start date.

The Margot Robbie train doesn’t stop there though, as The Wrap are reporting that the actress is also in talks to replace Amanda Seyfried in Craig Zobel’s Z for Zacariah, which is already set to star Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor. In that film, Robbie is wanted for the role of a young woman who “believes she’s the only survivor after a devastating nuclear event, though she comes to learn she is not alone when two strangers wander onto her farm from the forest.”

So, it looks like big things are headed Robbie’s way, and deservedly so. Her turn in The Wolf of Wall Street was really something and I’m glad to see that she’s finally starting to break out. Both Tarzan and Z for Zacariah should be great roles for her and will no doubt serve to further boost her star. If you’re not familiar with Margot Robbie just yet, we guarantee that you will be in the very near future.

Personally, I only really became acquainted with Robbie after seeing The Wolf of Wall Street but I’m definitely a fan. Like I said, I thought she was fantastic in that film and the fact that she isn’t receiving any real awards recognition is shocking. Still, it’s nice to see that the industry is sitting up and taking notice of the young star in the making and I’m certainly excited to see where she ends up next.
