Cristin Milioti Reveals Alternate Ending To The Wolf Of Wall Street

There's been a lot of talk about a possible director's cut of The Wolf of Wall Street. We know that Scorsese's original version ran 4 hours long but despite persistent rumors that the uncut version will see the light of day, the studio is claiming that the Blu-Ray will only include the theatrical cut. However, Scorsese has assured us that deleted scenes from the film would likely surface. While we don't have any details on what these scenes will consist of, it's likely that one of them will be an alternate ending, at least, if actress Cristin Milioti is to be believed.

There’s been a lot of talk about a possible director’s cut of The Wolf of Wall Street. We know that Scorsese’s original version ran 4 hours long but despite persistent rumors that the uncut version will see the light of day, the studio is claiming that the Blu-Ray will only include the theatrical cut. However, Scorsese has assured us that deleted scenes from the film would likely surface. While we don’t have any details on what these scenes will consist of, it’s likely that one of them will be an alternate ending, at least, if actress Cristin Milioti is to be believed.

In an interview with Vulture, Milioti revealed that she shot several scenes which didn’t make it into the film and that originally, there was a different ending planned:

“Well, I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this—there used to be a different ending. I shot a lot of the stuff in the very beginning and I remember the ending had something to do with me coming back. Like, you never saw me, but it was about making it right for that character,” she explained. “And I’m only feeling weird saying that because I think that’s what happened and now I’m like, “Wait, did I just imagine a scene where they were going to indict me and he was like, ‘No, I can’t wrong her twice.'” That script went through so many changes that I don’t remember.”

With the original cut being 4 hours long, I’m sure that Scorsese had several endings to the film, not just the one we saw and the one that Milioti is talking about. Personally, I thought that the way they chose to conclude the movie worked quite well, but I’m certainly curious to see what they had originally planned.

In fact, I’m eager to see all of the deleted scenes as there were several events left out of the movie that I think could have really added to it. Admittedly, it would have been impossible to fit the entire book into the film, given that it was already 3 hours, but still, there were some curious omissions and I’d love to know which scenes were actually shot but just didn’t make it into the final cut.

Tell us, did you enjoy The Wolf of Wall Street and the ending that Scorsese settled on?
