Marvel is getting ready to begin production on their upcoming Netflix series and one of the first to go in front of the camera will be Drew Goddard’s Daredevil. Unfortunately, we’re still without casting news but this week, a source that claims to be close to the production has come out on the MCU Facebook page and said that the studio has their eye on Michael C. Hall for the role. Furthermore, The Comic Book Cast dove into the rumor on their latest podcast and explained why they think it’s possible.
Obviously, there’s been no official confirmation on this and it should only be taken with a grain of salt. Still, it’s an interesting thought to ponder. Hall obviously has a very large fanbase due to his extensive work on television, and now that he’s done with Dexter he does have a considerable amount of free time on his hands.
That being said, after doing long runs on the aforementioned Showtime series as well as HBO’s Six Feet Under, would the actor want to commit to another large television project? There’s also his age, which is a factor. At 43, some may say that he’s too old for the role. It wouldn’t be unthinkable to cast him but personally, I’d rather see them go with someone a bit younger.
