Hot on the heels of the game’s official announcement, early story details for Ubisoft’s Far Cry 4 have found their way online.

The snippets, which first appeared through a now-deleted listing on the company’s uPlay website, offer us precious few details, including the main character’s name, the core plot and exactly why the studio relocated the franchise to an unforgiving Himalayan setting.

Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence. You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother’s dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min.

Explore and navigate this vast open world, where danger and unpredictability lurk around every corner. Here, every decision counts, and every second is a story. Welcome to Kyrat.

Though Ubisoft refused to comment on the veracity of this synopsis, the fact that the page has now been taken down lends credence to the fact that these story details are, in fact, legit. Moreover, it’s understood that Far Cry 4 will indeed orbit around a battle with a totalitarian dictator — the affable looking chap on the game’s box art, no less — who will no doubt make your trek to the Himalayas all the more memorable.

Ahead of the title’s November launch, GameStop has also begun taking pre-orders for the anticipated first-person shooter, which include an as yet unannounced Season Pass option. Priced at $30, the premium package will grant players access to extra content across Far Cry 4’s single-player and multiplayer components. In fact, the studio has hinted that the fourth numerical iteration in the series will include “a lot more multiplayer” than its predecessors.

Far Cry 4 is due to release across PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on November 18th and November 21st in North America and Europe, respectively.
