All of us here at We Got This Covered were holding our breath last weekend when we learned that 30 Rock alum Tracy Morgan had been rushed to the hospital in critical condition after his chauffeured limo was involved in a multiple-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. Thankfully, it appears that, despite his injuries, which include a broken leg, broken femur, broken nose and several broken bones, Morgan is going to recover. And today, FX and FXX reaffirmed their commitment to working with the comedian on an untitled comedy project.

Morgan had been set to topline a comedy series for FXX, which was set to begin production this August for a January 2015 premiere. FX Productions had been overseeing the project, which hailed from Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Luvh Rakhe. Obviously, plans for the series have been put on hold while Morgan recovers. However, Morgan’s fans needn’t worry that the accident will cause FXX to abandon plans for the series. In a joint statement, the networks said:

“The only thing we are concerned with is the health and recovery of Tracy Morgan and the victims of this tragic accident… We will support Tracy and his family in every way possible throughout his recovery. At the point when Tracy has recovered and decides that he is ready to go back to work, his show will be waiting for him. Right now our thoughts and prayers remain with Tracy, the other victims of the accident, and their families.”

Morgan’s long-time friend and fellow comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair was killed in the accident, which Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper stands accused of causing. Roper hadn’t slept for more than 24 hours prior to the accident, he said. The Georgia man has been charged with death by auto and four counts of assault by auto.
