Don’t Miss Out On 16 Minutes Of Dragon Age: Inquisition Gameplay

What we saw from Dragon Age: Inquisition at this year's E3 did a good job of piquing our interest, but it also left us wanting more. Much more, in fact. So, it's good news that I bring today, as BioWare has heard our calls and has thankfully answered, by providing us with a lengthy, sixteen minute-long gameplay demo that expands upon what we saw at last month's event.

What we saw from Dragon Age: Inquisition at this year’s E3 did a good job of piquing our interest, but it also left us wanting more. Much more, in fact. So, it’s good news that I bring today, as BioWare has heard our calls and has thankfully answered, by providing us with a lengthy, sixteen minute-long gameplay demo that expands upon what we saw at last month’s event.

Dubbed “The Hinterlands,” this gorgeous walkthrough — which is narrated by Creative Director Mike Laidlaw — is essentially a longer take on the game’s E3 demo. Within it, a female mage leads a party of allies against heinous foes, including a majestic dragon. In-between the action, beautiful scenery is traversed and new features are showcased.

Arguably, the coolest new feature found within Dragon Age: Inquisition is its mounts system. Horses appear throughout the world, and can be used for more efficient travelling. They’re not the only new mechanic, though. For one, the world now reacts to you and how you play. This means that, if you empty an area of a certain type of wildlife — either by hunting for sport or for loot upgrades — that species will likely not show up the next time you visit. Or, if it does, you’ll likely only see one or two, as opposed to many.

Spreading your inquisition also results in more of a hold on different areas. Allies will help you in this venture, and those who join your party can also be cycled through during combat. What does this mean? Well, instead of being restricted to just one playable character, that being your chosen hero or heroine, you’ll also be able to take advantage of your party members’ abilities while in battle. It’s a neat feature that will surely add a lot of strategy to what is shaping up to be a great RPG.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will launch on October 7, this fall’s busiest release date. Check out the new video below and leave your thoughts in the comments section.
