Check Out The First Full Trailer For Disney And Marvel’s Big Hero 6

We've been getting a number of intriguing teasers for Disney and Marvel's upcoming big-screen collaboration Big Hero 6 lately, including character profiles and posters, but we had yet to see a full-length trailer for the movie (I'm not counting that cutesy but uninformative teaser trailer) - until today.

We’ve been getting a number of intriguing teasers for Disney and Marvel’s upcoming big-screen collaboration Big Hero 6 lately, including character profiles and posters, but we had yet to see a full-length trailer for the movie (I’m not counting that cutesy but uninformative teaser trailer) – until today.

In our first real look at Big Hero 6, we see robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada trying to talk to an uninterested cop about how he and his plump robot companion Baymax were attacked by “a man in a Kabuki mask” and robbed of precious microbots. When that talk doesn’t go well, Hiro and Baymax flee – taking the cop’s roll of tape with them for Baymax. The trailer also gives us our first look at some of the other members of the Big Hero 6, who evidently get pulled into Hiro’s conflict with the microbot thief and wind up running for their lives. We also get to see an upgraded Baymax, whom Hiro encases in an Iron Man-esque super-suit, take flight in the streets of San Fransoyko (just go with it).

Though the fact that the trailer is set to Fall Out Boy’s “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” makes it seem a little more thrilling and action-packed than it actually is, I’m pretty happy with what’s on display here. It seems to confirm a few things that we suspected before – that Big Hero 6 is catering to a much lower demographic than most Marvel entries, that it’s going to be visually terrific and that moviegoers can still expect plenty of explosive action. Whether kids will bite is still unclear – but I’d wager Disney and Marvel have a hit on their hands.

T. J. Miller, Jamie Chung, Scott Adsit, Damon Wayans Jr., Genesis Rodriguez, James Cromwell, Alan Tudyk, Daniel Tenney, Ryan Potter and Maya Rudolph all lend their voices to Big Hero 6, which opens on November 7th.
