Danny Boyle’s Next Film Will Be Called Trance

No one can slow the man down, Danny Boyle is on a streak that has catapulted him into the Hollywood elite yet still maintaining his smart, kinetic style that has been there since Shallow Grave. Amid the business of other commitments he will film a movie called Trance in September, the details of which are being kept tightly under wraps. It has been described as "an art heist gone wrong, and it's got the dark, sexy, hard-edged tone of Boyle films like Shallow Grave and Trainspotting"

Amid the business of other commitments he will film a movie called Trance in September, the details of which are being kept tightly under wraps. You will however not see this till 2013, in order for Boyle to fit it into his schedule. The film will shoot from September to January in London. Then he will break to work on the Olympics from January till August. Then he will edit and prep the film for a March 2013 release date. The film will be produced by Christian Colson who worked with Boyle on Slumdog and 127 Hours, they are looking to friends at Pathé and Fox Searchlight for distribution rights and production money. The budget will be in the same area as their previous two collaborations.

Danny Boyle is on somewhat of a workaholic, yet wholly successful. Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours were met with mass critical and Oscar acclaim (the latter was entirely unsuccessful). Then he moved on to the National Theatre with his utterly brilliant stage adaptation of Frankenstein, something I was very fortunate to see in London. And in the summer of 2012 we will see what he and Stephen Daldry have done for the opening ceremony of the London Olympics. He’s Britain’s finest working filmmaker and I can’t wait to see what he does next, even if it is just under 2 years away. (Deadline)
