Well that was fast. Principal photography on Andrew Dominik‘s new film Cogan’s Trade has just finished on location in New Orleans and with it comes a picture of Brad Pitt in the film’s lead role as Jackie Cogan. Cogan’s Trade reunites Pitt with Dominik after their previous collaboration on The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, which is a masterpiece. From the look of this picture and the sound of the plot we aren’t looking at a film similar to Jesse James but more along the lines of Dominik’s debut feature Chopper.
The Weinstein Company have the distribution rights and will see the inside of cinema sometime in 2012. Alongside Pitt there is a stellar cast which includes James Gandolfini, Richard Jenkins, Scoot McNairy, Ray Liotta, Sam Shepherd and Bella Heathcote. (The Playlist)
