The USA Network has picked up Carlton Cuse’s new show, Colony. His former colleague, Josh Holloway, has also signed on to lead the futuristic series for what’s turning out to be an unofficial Lost reunion.

Jumping onto the popular dystopia bandwagon, the show will take place in Los Angeles in 2015, following a mysterious foreign occupation. There’s no details of whether those intruders are from a different country or another planet, but the concept of otherworldly visitors, and the downright bizarre shouldn’t be too much of a leap for Cuse or Holloway. The pair previously worked on ABC’s sci-fi adventure smash, Lost, about a group of plane crash survivors on a strange island.

For this new serial, they’ll join forces for “a naturalistic drama about a family forced to make difficult choices as they balance staying together with surviving an existential threat to the human race. Set in the near future, the story takes place in L.A., which exists in a state of occupation by a force of outside intruders. Some collaborate with the authorities and benefit from the new order, while others rebel and suffer the consequences.”

In the show, Holloway will play former FBI agent Will Bowman. His attempt to help his family means he must co-operate with the occupying government to hinder the success of a burgeoning resistance within the colony. Since his stint on Lost, which debuted ten years ago, Holloway has kept a quieter work schedule. He’s done a few pilots and features but nothing that has brought him the same acclaim as the loveable gruffster, James Sawyer, on Lost.

A joint effort by Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, the drama will be executive produced and written by Cuse and Hercules’ Ryan Condol. The Secret In Their Eyes director Juan Jose Campanella will helm the pilot.
