Not to be outdone by Threshold Entertainment’s Tetris-related announcement yesterday, another game-to-film adaptation tidbit has found its way online. That is, the full voice cast has been announced for Colombia Pictures’ upcoming Angry Birds movie.

The star-studded line-up — which includes the likes of Jason Sudeikis, Danny McBride, Kate McKinnon, and Peter Dinklage — was discovered by dedicated app users after surpassing one billion sling shots on Rovio’s ever-popular mobile title.

In a statement, producer John Cohen spoke with pride about the recently-revealed voice cast.

“I’m extremely proud of this cast. Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Danny, Bill, Maya, and Peter bringing these characters to life, but they’re surrounded by an all-star ensemble of emerging comedic talent – these are some of the funniest people out there today, and we’re thrilled to have them all on board.”

Joining the aforementioned trio for the animated romp are Cristela Alonzo, Jillian Bell and Danielle Brooks. It’s understood that the Angry Birds movie will be brought to life by first-time directors, Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis — who have previously worked across variety of other like-minded productions including Wreck-It Ralph, Bolt and Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs.

With an animated television show already on the airwaves along with a mountain of merchandise cramming up every store across the country, the Angry Birds movie will no doubt be the next big step for Rovio’s brand. In fact, the title recently soared past two and a half billion players across the globe, and with Colombia enlisting such a notable line-up for the soon-to-be-released movie, it won’t be too long before we’re lobbing feathered projectiles through the air once again. (If you managed to stop in the first place, that is.)

Angry Birds is expected to arrive into theaters on June 1st, 2016.
