Pan Screenwriter Jason Fuchs To Pen Wonder Woman

When Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones alum Michelle MacLaren landed the coveted job of helming Warner Brothers’ upcoming Wonder Woman film, the details about the project’s script were left ambiguous. We know that MacLaren will help develop the story, but won’t handle scripting duties. Rather, that job, according to a new report, belongs to Pan screenwriter Jason Fuchs.

Fuchs is a relative newcomer, with the only other feature film on his resume being 2012’s Ice Age: Continental Drift, which actually doesn’t instill much confidence in us when it comes to his ability to handle a high-profile project like this. However, that doesn’t mean that he won’t step up and do a good job with Wonder Woman. After all, he will have MacLaren’s help. So, color me cautiously optimistic for now.

In any case, Warner Bros. seems impressed with the script he wrote for Pan, as the studio is looking to create a new franchise out of the Peter Pan prequel tale and have brought Fuchs back on board for its sequel. So, perhaps he has more talent than we’ve seen from him thus far.

Unfortunately, there’s still no word on what exactly the plot for Wonder Woman is. Previous rumors suggest that it will be a prequel, taking place in the 1920s, but those details are unconfirmed. Hopefully now that Fuchs is on board, we’ll soon hear a more concrete plan for DC’s flagship heroine.

Wonder Woman will hit theaters on June 23rd, 2017. Played by Gal Gadot, she’ll first make her big screen debut a year prior, in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25th, 2016.
