Prepare to say goodbye to the unforgettable residents of Pawnee, as the seventh and final season of Parks And Recreation is set to debut in less than a month. Following the risque cliffhanger at the end of last season, NBC (via EW) has now dropped the first teaser to remind us why we’ll be tuning in to say farewell.

The first six seasons followed Amy Poehler as head of Pawnee’s Parks and Recreation department, Leslie Knope. Along with her motley crew of colleagues, the team fought tooth and nail against the hypocrisy and hilarity of small-town life. However, the parting coda of season six catapulted three years forward into 2017 – to a ‘distant future’ – and this is where the teaser picks up.

Running at a brief thirty seconds, it’s the perfect glimpse into a Pawnean future. Leslie and Ben dally with a hovering delivery drone bot on their doorstep, Jerry has adopted yet another name change, and Andy’s alter-ego Johnny Karate has landed his own TV show. These characters and their shenanigans will be sorely missed, so seeing them grapple with technology of the future softens the blow.

The show will make a flashy exit from our screens via a weekly double-whammy broadcast. Beginning January 13th, Parks and Rec will debut not one, but two brand new episodes back-to-back every week. This is a move that will no doubt make many fans of the show both happy and sad, and it also means that we’ll only be getting seven more weekly visits to Pawnee.

Co-starring Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Aziz Ansari, Rashida Jones, Nick Offerman, Retta and Adam Scott, Parks And Recreation returns to the small screen on January 13th, 2015 at 8pm PST / 7pm CST.
